First Three Months of Music
The first quarter of 2008 is already coming to an end! I decided to share with you 5 of my favorite records of the year thus far:
The Raveonettes - Lust Lust Lust

The danish duo, Raveonettes, return to the studio for another Jesus & Mary Chain-like record and this is just one fantastic noise-induced pop album. Crank up the stereo, and blast this catchy rock record to the max!
Juno - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

The Juno soundtrack is the perfect compliment to a great film. The music is very personal and full of simple yet powerful short songs. The final track features Michael Cera and Ellen Page singing the cover of the Moldy Peaches' "Anyone Else But You" from the movie.
Mono in VCF - Mono in VCF

Tacoma, WA based band Mono in VCF puts a very cinematic epic sound to their music with feature very well arranged sounds that are dense and majestic and backed by vocals that are gorgeous.
Hot Chip - Made in the Dark

Dance group Hot Chip return with another hip hop/soul induced rockin dance record that'll make you wanna dance dance dance! This is some fine electro-pop dance stuff.
MGMT - Oracular Spectacular

MGMT takes a bunch of genres and mashes it up into a very interesting and somewhat unique sound. They take the electropop of new wave, stuff it with some disco soul, and run it through some traditional indie rock and blast you with an extremely catchy, dancey output.
